What Can I Expect for Dental Bridge Treatment?

Posted .

A dental bridge is a beneficial restoration that can successfully replace your missing tooth. If you’re about to restore your oral health and enhance your smile with a dental bridge in Oak Lawn, Illinois, good for you! When you come to our office, you can expect a simple and successful treatment.

It will begin with Dr. Chris Pallotto numbing the mouth with a local anesthetic, which should give you the comfort you need during your treatment. Next, they will trim the enamel of the teeth that will anchor the bridge in place. This will make room for the crowns in the bridge.

Next, your dentist will make impressions of the anchoring teeth when they is done shaping them. When the impressions are completed, they will send them to a dental lab so the technicians can custom make your final restoration. While you wait for your bridge to be made, Dr. Chris Pallotto will place a temporary crown over each anchoring tooth.

Once your bridge is ready, the technicians will send it back to our office and you will come back for your second appointment. During this visit, Dr. Chris Pallotto will check the characteristics of the bridge to make sure it’s exactly what you need. Then, they will cement it over the anchoring teeth.
